The Catasauqua cross country team hosted a meet last week.

The boys race was won by Southern Lehigh’s Miles Etters with a time of 16:51. It was over a minute faster than Jeffery Sunderlin of Wilson’s time of 17:41, who came in second.

Catty’s top finishers was Evan Reed who came in 21st with a time of 20:00. Blake Reed was 34th in 20:59 and Nikoloz Kemashvili was 35th in 21:03.

Wilson’s Juliana Bonham took first in the girls race with a time of 19:36. She was ahead of second place finisher of Caelee Lenhart of Southern Lehigh and her time of 20:01.

Catty’s Uyen Ly was the Roughs’ top finisher taking 29th in 26:58.

The Catty field hockey team dropped a game to Pen Argyl 1-0, but no information was made available.

The girls also lost to Wilson, 4-3.

The Roughies actually led in the game 2-0 after Shelby Haldeman and Dakota Velas scored in the first quarter.

Wilson would cut the deficit to 2-1 in the second quarter and in the third Wilson tied the game at 2-2.

The game remained tied after the fourth quarter. Brielle Dorn would score for the Rough Riders before the overtime period, where Wilson was awarded a stroke and scored the game-winner.

Lizzy Bass made 13 saves for the Rough Riders.

The Catty volleyball team fell to Pen Argyl, 25-11, 25-11, 25-8, but no additional information was made available.

Lehighton defeated Catty in girls soccer, 6-0.

Sadie Monk scored the first two goals for the Indians. Monk also picked up an assist. Leah Uyvari also scored two goals in the win. Claire Bridy had a goal and an assist.

Catty keeper Brooke Barna had 15 saves in the loss.

Catty fell to Notre Dame 5-0. No other information was available.

The boys soccer team was a 3-2 winner over Lehighton.

The Rough Riders needed overtime to pick up the win. Jayden Olivencia scored twice for the Rough Riders in regulation with the overtime goal coming from Alex Strohl. Olivencia also picked up an assist on the OT score and Darian Silva-Salcedo assisted on Olivencia’s goals.

Konner Nalesnik scored both goals and Chase Lobasso picked up and assist for Lehighton.

The team was also a winner over Tamaqua.

Jariel Medina Cotera was the lone goal scorer in the game, notching the first half goal that eventually gave the Roughs the win.

Liam McGinley kept the clean slate by making nine saves in the win.
