Community Day at Laurys Station

The Laurys Station Volunteer Fire Company will host its annual Community Day noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

The Castaway Band will perform and there will be activities for children. Visitors will be invited to check out the new fire engine and the remodeled hall. Food will be available.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will celebrate Harvest Home at the 10:15 a.m. worship service Sept. 21.

The sanctuary will be decorated with mums and harvest items.

As the congregation offers gratitude for God’s bounty, they will collect non-perishables for the food bank and take a collection for ECHO, an organization that helps feed hungry people around the world.

St. John’s will host the first meeting of a spouse/partner grief support group 7 p.m. Sept. 23. Call 610-262-8061 for additional information.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, welcomes all the barbecue bash in the grove 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 20. Lorah’s pig roasters will offer half a chicken or pulled pork sandwich dinners.

In addition, the church stand will provide hot dogs, ice cream and other desserts. The band TimeWhys will be on stage with music from the 1960s and 1970s.

Union U.C.C. Sunday school will resume 9:15 a.m. Sept. 14 and children’s church will begin a new season at the 10:30 a.m. Sept. 21 service.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will resume Sunday school on Rally Day 10:15 a.m. Sept. 14.

The auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, is getting ready for its shoofly pie fundraiser. Call Julie at 610-262-7749 by Sept. 20 to reserve your shoofly pie for pickup Sept. 27 and 28.
