Northampton man dies in Sept. 2 crash

A motorcyclist, from Northampton, was fatally injured in a collision with a vehicle Sept. 2 in the area of South Cedar Crest Boulevard and Fish Hatchery Road, Salisbury Township, according to authorities.

Brandon C. Gehris, 24, was pronounced dead 12:44 a.m. Sept. 3 in the emergency department of Lehigh Valley Hospital, South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Salisbury Township, where he had been taken by ambulance, according to authorities.

The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death was determined to be an accident, according to news releases from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensics Center dated Sept. 3 and 4.

Gehris was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the coroner’s office.

According to Salisbury police, the collision involved a 2011 Yamaha R6 motorcycle and a 2019 Nissan Sentra.

The motorcycle was described by police as showing “extensive damage” when officers arrived at the crash scene approximately 11:14 p.m. Sept. 2.

A 28-year-old female, of Salisbury Township, who was driving the vehicle was not hurt, according to Salisbury police.

Agencies responding to the crash also included Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company, Emmaus Borough Police Department, Cetronia EMS and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.

Investigating agencies include the Lehigh County Crash Team and Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
