North Catasauqua: Presbyterian Church plans Sept. 12 nonperishable food drive
Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., will hold its monthly food drive 10 a.m.-noon Sept. 12 in the church parking lot. Drive through to donate your items.
Nonperishable food items will be accepted to benefit Catasauqua Area Food Bank.

The Catasauqua Club, 226 Pine St., is holding a basket social 5-8 p.m. Sept. 12 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 13. There will be food available for purchase, a bake sale and an additional 50/50 raffle.
Tickets will be available at the door.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua, will be holding a mystery dinner theater night Sept. 13 at the church. The “Golden Girls” Murder Mystery event begins 5:30 p.m. with a night of fun, felony and fellowship.
Dinner will consist of herb-roasted chicken breast, herb-roasted potatoes, salad, dessert and beverages. There is a cost.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua will hold its next free community lunch 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sept. 15.
The church is also accepting donations for the Roughie Pantry. The pantry is set up to “love our school-aged neighbors.” The pantry is currently accepting shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, body wash, tampons, sanitary napkins, etc. Collection bins are located at the church entrances.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church will hold its ninth annual Oktoberfest 5-9 p.m. Sept. 20 in the parish center. Outdoor seating will be available, weather permitting.
Come for dinner and enjoy your homemade German favorites like pulled pork, chicken schnitzel, spaetzle, brats and more. The biergarten will be stocked with your favorite German and domestic beers. There will be live music all night long by Robbie Lawrence and the Steelworkers band.
A fall-themed basket raffle will take place, and homemade desserts will be sold. This event is free to attend, so no outside food or drinks are permitted.

Father Tolentino from St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church will be participating in the Cooks with Collars Allentown Diocese fundraiser through Sept. 30. While his video was recorded at St. Mary’s this year, each parish will receive their own votes and donations.
