New dean of elementary students named in Parkland

The Parkland School District Board of School Directors has appointed Kristin Madeira as the dean of elementary students to replace Justina Verile who is the new principal of Schnecksville Elementary School.
The unanimous appointment came during the board’s regular meeting Aug. 19.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Madeira to this new leadership role within our district,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Madson said. “Kristin has consistently shown herself to be a natural leader among peers and students. She possesses excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, allowing her to effectively collaborate with teachers, staff and parents. Her outstanding communication skills will be invaluable to the elementary administrative team.”
Madeira is an accomplished professional who holds a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Moravian College. She furthered her expertise by pursuing her Master of Education degree in educational leadership from Delaware Valley University, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
Most recently, Madeira was a highly respected fifth grade teacher at Kratzer Elementary School, where she consistently fostered a dynamic and engaging learning environment. Her prior experience teaching second grade at Kratzer Elementary School and her tenure in the Allentown School District have provided her with a comprehensive understanding of diverse student needs and educational approaches across elementary grade levels.
The dean of students works with school leaders to manage student conduct, enrollment, attendance and other student-related needs while supporting staff and programs. Serving all nine school buildings, the dean assists with daily responsibilities and problem-solving to support students, staff and families in a fast-paced role that helps manage the many moving parts of the elementary school environment.
