Nominations sought for inspiring STEM educators

The PPL Foundation is now accepting nominations for its annual STEM Educator Awards, a competitive grant program celebrating teachers who spark student interest and achievement in science, technology, engineering and math.

“These awards recognize educators who have successfully created engaging, student-centered STEM learning experiences that inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers,” according to a recent news release.

One exceptional K-12 STEM teacher will receive $2,500 to support classroom resources and professional development from the PPL Foundation.

Three educators — one each from elementary, middle and high school levels — will receive $1,500 to enhance their STEM teaching efforts.

Eligible nominees must be full-time K-12 public school teachers with a minimum of three years of experience and be teaching within PPL Electric’s Pennsylvania service area.

Teachers may apply directly or nominations may be submitted by colleagues, students, parents or community members by Sept. 30.
