Lower Milford Township to host 23rd annual Fall Festival Sept. 27

Lower Milford Township will welcome visitors, vendors, fans and friends to its 23rd annual Fall Festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 27 at the township building, 7606 Chestnut Hill Road.
The festival is held rain or shine.
Festival highlights will include an antique car and tractor show, music performances and a basket raffle to benefit the Lower Milford volunteer fire company.
Parking is free.

History enthusiasts in Upper Milford Township, particularly those with a fondness for military history, may want to mark their calendars for two upcoming talks.
On Sept. 25, the Upper Milford Historical Society will host Mike Jasberger to present the program “Farewell: ‘Tis the end” on the final words of military leaders in history.
The program begins 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St.
Nominations for historical society officers also are scheduled for that evening’s meeting.
The military theme continues Sept. 30 when Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society hosts a program on the forts of the Blue Mountains range in Pennsylvania.
The program starts 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St. Admission is free.
For those preparing their yards for the fall and winter seasons ahead, please note summer hours for the yard waste drop off area in Upper Milford Township continue through Nov. 30. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Mondays; 3-7 p.m. Wednesdays; 8 a.m. to noon Fridays; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
Winter hours begin Dec. 1.
If you would rather decorate than weed and prune for fall, consider visiting the Southern Lehigh Library, 3200 Preston Lane, Center Valley, especially if you are a resident of Lower Milford Township, Sept. 8 for an adults-only craft event to make a fall wreath. The event is open to those 18 years and older and supplies will be provided. The event starts 6 p.m.
The Friends of the Southern Lehigh Library will host author Sally Handlon, who will talk about her book “Your Journey to Aging Well,” 7-8 p.m. Sept. 10. The event is part of the Evenings with Friends series at the library.

The Lower Milford board of supervisors will next meet 6:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at the township building, 7606 Chestnut Hill Church Road.
