PRESS PHOTOS BY KATHY HASSICKThe Salisbury Elementary School library reconfiguration project took most of the summer to complete but it was ready to receive students on the first day of school. ABOVE: Brand-new furniture arrives in mid-August and many hands help with the task of assembling and re-shelving every book in the library.
The library is the central hub of learning and discovery and this cozy reading area beckons learners to relax and enjoy a good book.
New tables and chairs await elementary students as they explore new ideas through books.
The newly reconfigured library is to be fully enclosed by locking doors which will soon be installed to add a layer of security in the heart of the building.
The reading steps receive a fresh new look inviting students to sit, listen, discuss and wonder.
The library space has been reconfigured to include three new workspaces – one for student use, an IT office and a conference room. This area serves as a conference room.
