Sept. 3

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, will hold free food distribution 2-4 p.m. Additional dates will be Sept. 10, 17 and 24. Recipients must reside in the East Penn School District. Signs will be posted to direct you where to park and which door to use to pick up your food. Beginning in October, food distributions will be held the second and fourth Wednesdays only.

Sept. 6

The Emmaus High School Class of 1967 will host its 58th class reunion 2-7 p.m. at Emmaus Community Park’s Arts Pavilion. Classmates and their guests will enjoy a catered barbecue and music by DJ Hot Wheels. Sept. 7

Jeff Krick will perform music of the 1950s and 1960s in a free concert in the band shell at The Hills at Lock Ridge Park, 7125 Scenic View Drive, Macungie, 4-6 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating. This is a rescheduled show from Lower Macungie Township’s summer concert series.

Sept. 8

The Parkland Garden Club will meet at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield. The program “Creative Gift Ideas” will be presented by Maryann DeSanto. DeSanto will present creative ways to wrap gifts and gift cards. Doors open 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and socialization. Program starts 7 p.m. Guests are welcome. Sept. 12

The band Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods will bring the sounds of 1950s rock ‘n’ roll to The Hills at Lock Ridge Park, 7125 Scenic View Drive, Macungie, 5:30-8 p.m. Admission is free. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating. This is a rescheduled show from Lower Macungie Township’s summer concert series.

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, will hold a free community meal inside fellowship hall 5-6:30 p.m. You are welcome to come inside to pick up a take-out meal if you choose not to dine in. The meal will consist of chicken pot pie, salad, roll and butter and dessert. For more information, call the church office at 610-966-3325.

Sept. 13

The Class of 1964 Emmaus High School will hold its 61st reunion 4-8 p.m. at Deliziosos Italian Grill, 1985 Brookside Road, Macungie with a dinner/buffet being served. Sept. 17

Emmaus Historical Society program “The Silk Mills of Emaus, their History and Heritage,” 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Social Hall, Fifth and Chestnut streets, Emmaus. Programs are free and members and nonmembers are welcome to attend.

Sept. 20

The Emmaus Historical Society will host the Emmaus Heritage Festival, 218 Main St., Emmaus. The Historic Commission and Heritage Alliance members, neighboring historical societies and demonstrations of quilting, weaving, basket weaving, pottery making, wood working, chair caming, gun-smithing and and Pa. Dutch Hex signs will be on site for your enjoyment. This is also in conjunction with Emmaus Main Street Partners Farewell to Summer on the Triangle.

Sept. 23

The Emmaus Garden Club will host its club flower show “Bound in Bloom” 2-7 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3002 N. Second St., Emmaus. Admission is free and open to the public.

Sept. 25

The Upper Milford Historical Society will host a talk by Mike Jesberger on the final words of military leaders. The free program starts 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St., Old Zionsville.

Sept. 27

Pianist Patrick Kerssen will present music from the iconic 1965 movie musical “The Sound of Music” 1-2:15 p.m. at the Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus. Lower Milford Township will host its 23rd annual Fall Festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the township building, 7606 Chestnut Hill Road. The festival is held rain or shine. Highlights will include an antique car and tractor show, music performances and a basket raffle to benefit the Lower Milford volunteer fire company. Parking is free. Sept. 30

The Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society will host a program titled “The Forts of the Blue Mountains” 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St., Old Zionsville. The program will highlight the forts built by the Pennsylvania Regiment in the 18th century. Admission to the program is free.

Oct. 4

A Crazy About Quilting Celebration, presented by the Crazy Quilters Quilt Guild, is being held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 4601 Tilghman St., Allentown. See a display of 100+ quilts and quilted items, the sale of handmade quilted articles and recycled “stash” items and quilting demonstrations. Details at crazyquilters.org.
