Out Past Curfew
Out Past Curfew entertained for the final scheduled performance in Catasauqua Borough’s 2025 summer concert series, held Aug. 29 at the amphitheater at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St. Thankfully, no summary citations were given for a curfew violation, as everyone understood it was just the band’s name.
Our Past Curfew’s energetic rock music warmed attendees on a cool August evening.
The local band was created March 6, 2023. Members play at a variety of venues in Lehigh, Northampton and Monroe counties. Visit the band’s Facebook page for more information and to book.
The amount of attendees grew as the evening unfolded.
Kids were having fun rolling and running down the grassy hill. They rolled hula hoops and beach balls down the hill, which is a popular sledding site during winter. Councilwoman Jill Smerdon was present with her kids, who probably tired themselves out as they ran around the grounds with other youngsters that evening.
Jarrett Conbeer and Matthew Chickilly, both from Catasauqua, with pit bull Thor and a Corso Italian Mastiff puppy Ares, sat enjoying the evening of good music and refreshments. Although a puppy, Ares’ paws are larger than Thor’s. Conbeer said Ares will be a very large dog when full grown and may weigh over 100 pounds.
Friends Stayce Wolfe, of North Catasauqua, and Pam Reifinger, of Upper Milford Township, socialized at the concert and enjoyed the rock music.
Jimmy Bloom, of Whitehall, and Elaine Yotter, of Slatington, sat side by side in chairs on the pavement by American Street, which offers a birds-eye view of the entire concert. They noted they have attended every Catasauqua 2025 summer concert series event.
It was a fun night of music, refreshments, friendship and community building.
Take note: In case you missed this final scheduled concert, there will be one more — 7-10 p.m. Sept. 12 by Tavern Tan. This performance was originally set for May 30 but was postponed due to inclement weather.
