Kevin M. Hoffman

Kevin M. Hoffman, 64, of Northampton, died Aug. 25, 2025, at his residence. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Jean M. (Miller) Hoffman with whom he resided and the late Ralph M. Hoffman. He was employed as a material handler at B. Braun Medical, Inc. in Bethlehem for 27 years before retiring.

His love of sports began in his hometown of Northampton, where he participated in youth sports with the Northampton Athletic Association. He graduated from Northampton High School, Class of 1979. He played men’s league fast-pitch softball and he played and coached Northampton Legion baseball.

Over the years, he had become a highly respected veteran girls softball umpire, football referee and wrestling official. He umpired two PIAA championship games in softball and he officiated one state final in football. His tenure included 37 years officiating football, 24 years umpiring softball, and 40 years officiating wrestling.

He will be remembered for his integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, respect and knowledge of the game that he garnered from players, coaches and spectators. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laurys Station. He fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Sharon M. Galetta and her husband, Steven, of Lansdale; niece, Stephanie M. Galetta; nephew, Andrew M. Galetta and his fiancé, Gwyn Koladish.
