Fullerton: St. John’s men’s group to meet

The men’s breakfast group of St. John’s United Church of Christ will meet 8:30 a.m. Sept. 6 at Hamilton Family Restaurant, 2027 Hamilton St., Allentown.

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Fullerton Avenue and Pershing Boulevard, will begin its religious education classes (CCD) for the 2025-26 school year 6 p.m. Sept. 15. The week before, Sept. 8, will begin with an opening Mass 6 p.m.

Students should first arrive at the parish hall to meet their teacher and then will go to the church together.

Parents are asked to go directly to the church.

After Mass, all students and parents should report to the parish hall for a short orientation meeting, meet the catechist and receive a religion book. They will be given pertinent information including the yearly class schedule.

St. Elizabeth’s 2026 Confirmation Class will be selling 9-inch hoagies and sandwiches to help fund a bus trip to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, D.C., in October and join the Diocesan pilgrimage plus fulfill their Confirmation retreat requirement.

The hoagies and sandwiches are available with or without peppers or onions, Italian, turkey, roast beef, tuna, pastrami and ham/cheese. Order forms can be picked up at the school or parish office or found on the parish website, sercc.org.

Orders are due the morning of Sept. 15. Pickup is 2:45-4:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in the parish hall. Checks are payable to St. Elizabeth Church.

The Whitehall High School Class of 1978 is hosting a 65th birthday celebration noon-7 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Egypt Memorial Park pavilion, 4548 Main St.

There is a cost, which includes hamburgers, hot dogs, snacks, water and music. It is BYOB with beer and wine only (no glass bottles). Please bring a covered dish or dessert to share.
