A Salisbury Township motorist was hurt when she became pinned between her vehicle and a house in a one-vehicle crash Aug. 17, according to a news release from Salisbury police.
Authorities described the crash as follows:
At approximately 3:32 p.m. that day officers responded to the 1500 block of Broadway for a vehicle crashing into a house and found a 20-year-old woman pinned between a sport utility vehicle and a house.
The driver was taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital.
Police learned the SUV broke down on Broadway and was disabled.
“Just after the vehicle broke down, the female driver exited the vehicle,” according to the news release.
The vehicle started to roll backward toward the house.
The driver tried to get back into the vehicle to stop it from rolling “and in the process of doing so became pinned between her vehicle and a home,” according to the news release.
Firefighters from Eastern Salisbury Township Fire Department and Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company freed the motorist from where she was pinned.
The vehicle also struck what authorities described as “an aboveground gas line/meter” at the residence.
