dental hygienist
Megan Lynn Newhart, 36, of Palmerton, died Aug. 18, 2025.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Lori (Creamer) Newhart-Costello and the late Edgar A. Newhart.
A 2007 graduate of Palmerton High School, she went on to earn her dental hygienist certification from Northampton Community College in 2011. She got as many extra certifications as she could without being a dentist.

She volunteered her time providing free dental cleanings at schools and free clinics, feeding people in need for Thanksgiving and visiting animal shelters.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a stepfather, Joseph Simmons; two children, Leonard Drummond III and Leddie L. Drummond; a sister, Katelyn A. Newhart-Hantz and husband Kristofer; a brother, Tanner J. Costello with Shania Bittner; a nephew, Rush A. Hantz; and a grandmother, Barbara of Whitehall.
There will be a calling time 4 p.m., followed by a memorial service 5 p.m., Sept. 2 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton.
