Mark N. Ambrose
Mark N. Ambrose, 55, of Allentown, died July 14, 2025. He was the son of Malcolm and Donna Ambrose. He was married to his wife, Sally, for 34 years.
He earned local, regional and national awards for his athleticism during high school at Huntington Area High School and at Delaware Valley College including national wrestling individual and team championships, four National all-American and Academic all-American Awards.
He earned a degree in business administration from Delaware Valley College. He was a true entrepreneur — designing, testing, manufacturing, importing, marketing and selling a wide array of outdoor sports equipment. His business supported his family and several employees over the years.
His love for fishing took him to many places, including his favorite spots in the Bahamas. On work trips or family vacations, he shared his passion for tropical fish, sea turtles and Piggyville with his parents, nephews and friends.
A proud “dance dad,” he sold Irish dance shoes and socks. He even designed and sourced a one-of-a-kind bag to carry the fancy dresses, wigs, shoes and supplies needed for competitions.
Whenever he saw a need — especially where his daughters were concerned — he found a way to meet it.
An avid cook, he was known for making birthday cakes and dinners.
Living in Florida, he was a true Bucs fan — hosting game-day parties with opponent-themed meals that made each game memorable. After moving to Pennsylvania, he adopted the Eagles as his team — and expanded his college game day choices when his daughters enrolled at West Virginia and Penn State.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by daughters, Isabelle Ambrose Pohorylo and son-in-law, Jon, Kathryn and Emma; Sean Hunter; brother, Scott and sister-in-law, Julie and their sons, Zach and Collin, all of the Lehigh Valley; in-laws, Edmund and Rita Gargula, of Huntingdon,; cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by Jasper Steven.
