Members of Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church hosted a back to school bash Aug. 9 ensuring area students start the school year with all the supplies they need.
Church Pastor Vicki Severn and her congregation donated loads of notebooks, pencils, markers and folders and planned a day of fun and games for school aged children and their siblings to enjoy before they head back to school.
Every child in attendance received a swag bag filled with supplies. Kids could play games to win more needed supplies and backpacks to carry them in.
In addition to school supplies, kids could receive a fresh new haircut so they can look their best when they arrive at school.
As a special treat, Magic Mr. Severn performed in the church hall while families enjoyed snacks and drinks. After the performance, everyone played bingo to win more great prizes.
Any supplies leftover from the event were donated to area schools in an effort to meet the needs of students.
