During the Aug. 7 board of commissioners meeting for Lower Macungie Township, a conditional use hearing for expansion for Red Maple Acres was continued to a later date. That date will be determined and re-advertised.
Resolution 2025-33 accepting right of way and trail easement for the Stone Hill Haven subdivision at 6665 and 6709 Mountain Road was approved.
Part of the original agreement with the subdivision was to allow a right of way for a pathway for walking and riding bikes.
Resolution 2025-34 was approved for easements on Spring Creek and Mertztown roads and Smith Lane for PPL Electric for installation of utility facilities.
Resolution 2025-35 was approved. This authorizes an application for several American with Disabilities Act ramps at some intersections. This includes repairs necessary at some ramps already installed.
A sewage planning module for 2742 Riverbend Road for the Haines subdivision at 2740 Riverbend Road was approved.
The bill list was approved.
The minutes from the July 17 meeting also were approved.
Richard Zayaitz was appointed to fill a vacancy for the planning commission. The term will expire Jan. 1, 2026.
Zayaitz was the only candidate.
The commissioners appointed Christopher Paddock to fill the vacancy on the public safety advisory committee. The term is to expire on Dec. 31, 2026.
Paddock was one of three candidates.
