Lisa A. Meitzler
Lisa Ann Meitzler, 63, of Macungie, died Aug. 16, 2025, with family by her side.
She was a one of a kind woman with a strong opinion and dry sense of humor. Despite her small stature she had a big presence to those around her and those she met. Gag gifts were one of her favorite gifts to give her husband Larry with varying levels of humor, usually the more inappropriate the better.
Besides being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she loved going to volunteer at animal shelters, which always brought on suspense for her husband as to how many animals she would come home with. Her giant heart and empathy for those in need were her strongest attributes. She loved hosting parties and having holidays at her home. She would never turn anyone away and welcomed everyone.
She and her husband spent many winters in the Virgin Islands together. She loved the beach and the Island Dreams house was truly her happy place. She loved taking friends and family to the islands with them.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Matthew Warnken; daughters, Donna Peluso and Ashley Waltemyer and spouse; grandchildren, Elik Warnken, Isaac Waltemyer, Maeve Waltemyer and Emma Highley; sister, Lorna Young; many nieces and nephews; stepdaughter, Elisa Highley and spouse.
As per her wishes, she was cremated and will have some of her ashes sprinkled in the Virgin Islands, which family will honor in due time. There will be a celebration of life 2-4 p.m. Aug. 24 held at 1760 Pembrooke Drive, Macungie.
Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
