George Herczeg Jr.
George Herczeg Jr., 83, of Macungie, died surrounded by the love of all his family while visiting Westlake, Fla., May 24, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Carmella A. (Rentz) Herczeg with whom he lived and shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late George and Mary Ann (Plebani) Herczeg.
A proud veteran, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War 1961 to 1967. After his service, he earned his Bachelor of Mathematics degree from Moravian College, Class Of 1969.
He worked at Metal Welding and Supply Co. for 15 years as a purchasing manager. He then worked for many years as a global product sales manager for Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., where he dedicated himself until his retirement in 2008.
During retirement, he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream and started his own handyman business “George Do It Fix It!”
He enjoyed working with his hands most but also found enjoyment in the occasional game of golf. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved teaching, sharing stories, making videos of his projects and himself and passing down wisdom, humor and cherished memories.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, George P. and his fiancée, Lisa M. Venanzi, of Westlake, Fla.; Melisa A. Bain and her husband, Francis Bain II, of Clarksburg, Md.; Gregory J. and his wife, Michelle, of Pasadena, Md. and Glenn R. and his wife, Barbara, of Westlake, Fla.; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; granddaughter, Willow.
A visitation and mass will be held at St. Thomas More Church, 1040 Flexer Ave, Allentown. The visitation will begin 10 a.m. Sept. 6. The eulogy and Mass will begin promptly 10:45 a.m.
Arrangements were made by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
The family would like to request donations be made to the American Stroke Association toward the research and prevention of strokes in honor of George Herczeg Jr.
