Catasauqua: Large Flowerheads to take Catty stage

The borough summer concert series continues with The Large Flowerheads 7-10 p.m. Aug. 22 at Catasauqua Park and Playground amphitheater, 501 American St.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and settle in for a fun, musical night in the park.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., will be holding bingo Aug. 24. The start time of the cash bingo is 1 p.m., with doors opening noon.

Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game and more. There will be refreshments available for purchase.

Bring a donation of a nonperishable food item, pet food or paper product such as facial tissues, paper towels or toilet paper for the Whitehall Food Pantry and receive a strip of specials to be played on the first four specials.

Reserving seats is not necessary, but if you want to reserve seats, call or text 610-533-1357.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is having a half-price back-to-school sale on everything in the shop through Aug. 30.

Regular hours at the shop are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Shop volunteers are happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys during regular business hours. Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

The Whitehall High School Class of 1978 is hosting a 65th birthday celebration noon-7 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Egypt Memorial Park pavilion, 4548 Main St.

There is a cost, which includes hamburgers, hot dogs, snacks, water and music. It is BYOB with beer and wine only (no glass bottles). Please bring a covered dish or dessert to share.
