It’s that time of year when we say goodbye to the summer reading club and get ready for back to school!

At 11 a.m. Aug. 22, all participants in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program are invited to a party featuring story time, giveaways and of course, cake.

Reservations are required to ensure ample supplies.

Look for more Launchpad learning tablets for youth and 23 new STEAM to-go kits by the end of the year.

September is National Library Card Signup Month!

This year’s theme is “One Card, Endless Possibilities.”

The library will have scavenger hunts for all ages.

Complete the hunt and enter for a chance to win prizes.

Join us for an “All Out Library Social” event 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 9.

Learn about the library’s many hidden treasures and enjoy some light refreshments.

Earn book bucks for the Friends of the Library book shop while learning about our special collections.

Also, the Libby app and hoopla app offer e-books and e-audiobooks in a variety of languages and the Kanopy app has streaming videos in other languages – all free with your library card.

The library will be at the North Whitehall Back to School party Aug. 22 and South Whitehall Community Day Sept. 27.
