W. Jane Bieret
W. Jane Bieret, 96, formerly of Emmaus and Phoebe Terrace Allentown, died July 30, 2025, in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late James F. Bieret. Born in Warfordsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Nicholas T. and Vivien R. (Hill) Louden.
She was a 1946 graduate of Allentown High School and a 1949 graduate of the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing where she was a member of the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.
She was the last surviving member of the close circle of nurses from the Class of 1949, known as the “Club Gang” who visited together once a month for 67 years.
She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown where she was a member of the Altar Guild.
She was a member of several bridge clubs and enjoyed playing cards with friends.
She spent many weekends at Swartswood Lake where she cheered on her husband and son from the beach during sailing competitions. She loved spending time with her parents and family at the cottage (aka “Grammy’s Hut”) situated by a waterfall on Unami Creek in Sumneytown.
She is survived by a son, James D. and his wife, Michele S., of Woodbridge, Va.; daughters: Susan J. and her husband, David Beck, of Riegelsville, Katherine A. and her husband, Michael J. Yanushefski, of Zionsville, seven grandsons; five great-grandchildren.
