Northampton Area Public Library: Board of trustees to meet Aug. 14 at Northampton library

Northampton Area Public Library’s board of trustees is set to meet 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14. All are welcome to attend.

Youth in grades 3-5 are invited to join Miss Tessa 6 p.m. Aug. 21 for game and STEAM clubs.

Once Upon a Crime is meeting to discuss hostages 6 p.m. Aug. 25.

The Friends of NAPL will be meeting 7 p.m. Aug. 26. All are welcome.

As families begin getting back-to-school supplies and taking one last vacation, the library is getting ready to get into our community a bit more. We’ll be visiting the local schools in August and September for open houses and back-to-school nights.

Don’t forget back to school also means Labor Day weekend! The library will be closed Sept. 1 in honor of Labor Day and all the hard work the community has done as employees and business owners throughout the years.

Take care of yourselves. You deserve this break!

Basket social ticket sales will begin Sept. 2. You can save with our presale with discounted tickets. The presale ends 8 p.m. Oct. 16.

The basket social will be held 6-8 p.m. Oct. 17 at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.

If you plan on attending the 36th annual Uptown Northampton Street Fair 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 13, stop by the library table to say hello, grab some basket social tickets or get a Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends savings pass from the Friends of NAPL.

The Laid-Back Book Club is reading “The Orphanage by the Lake” by Daniel G. Miller. So far, this is actually a psychological thriller that many are really enjoying, and one of Miller’s read-alike authors is our beloved Freida McFadden.
