St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church member
Lorraine A. Boyle, 94, formerly of Whitehall and Country Meadows in Allentown, died Aug. 7, 2025, at Brookdale Assisted Living. She was the wife of the late Connell F. Boyle for 50 years.
Born in East Mauch Chunk, she was a daughter of the late Hugh E. and Bertha M. (Albeck) Friel.
She was a graduate of Mauch Chunk Catholic High School.
She was a telephone operator most of her life for Bell Telephone and the U.S. government.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church and its former Golden Agers.
She is survived by a daughter, Maureen Corcoran and husband Charles T. of Perkasie; a son, Connell H. of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren, Katie, Connell, Maureen, Matthew, Bridget and James; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, James J. Friel and wife Susan of Whitehall; and two sisters, Patricia Heaney of Jim Thorpe and Rosemarie Svetik and husband Joseph of Chalfont.
She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Eileen; a sister, Jean Friel; a brother, Thomas H. “Mike” Friel; and a brother-in-law, Al.
There will be a calling time 9-10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m., Aug. 14 at the church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall.
