Limandri happy to be back with team
In his football career, Tyler Limandri has come a long way from his beginnings to his current junior year.
During his journey, Limandri has had plenty of memories. Through it all, it has been a good ride.
“One of my favorite memories is winning the flag football championship in my youth,” noted Limandri. “I started playing football after I fell in love with it while watching an NFL game.
“I really like the intensity and the atmosphere it brings.”
Last season, Limandri was a starter at wider receiver and safety until he broke his leg in the ninth game against Pen Argyl. He caught 12 passes for 117 yards and also recorded 45 tackles.
This season, Limandri and his teammates already are anxious to make amends after a 3-7 campaign last year, one that ended with seven-straight regular-season losses.
“I see the state of this team as being hungry,” boasted Limandri. “Last season, things didn’t go our way. But on and off the field, our mindsets and attitude have completely changed for the better.”
Head coach Joe Henrich has noticed Limandri’s determination.
“Tyler has had a great offseason,” beamed Henrich. “He added about 15 pounds of body weight, gotten stronger, and became a leader on this team.
“Tyler is a hardworking kid who is very coachable and is willing to do whatever is best for the team>”
In turn, Limandri has fed off his coach.
“Coach Henrich has been the biggest influence in my career,” stressed Limandri. “He has shown me a completely different look of the game, and has shown me how to better myself on and off the field.”
Limandri and his team appear ready to open the season Aug. 22 at Mahanoy Area.
“I believe that we are on a path to greatness,” said Limandri. “We are ready to prove everyone wrong about Catasauqua football.”
