State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, say a 42-year-old Scranton woman from Horn Lane, North Whitehall Township, reported a check was signed and cashed without her authorization.

According to police, at 10:21 a.m. July 8 the woman allegedly said after returning home from being incarcerated for the past three years, she observed a check from the Colonial Penn Life Insurance Company was signed and cashed without her authorization.

Police say the total approximate loss at this point in the investigation is $10,233.65.

Garage door

chain stolen

State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, say Troopers were dispatched for a report of a garage door chain taken from a residence on Faye Drive, North Whitehall Township.

Police say a 78-year-old woman reported the theft had occurred sometime between July 10 and July 28.

According to police, the chain was valued at $50.
