Aug. 7
Upper Macungie Township will hold its Grub and Groove at Grange series 5-8 p.m. Thursdays until Sept. 25 in the parking lot Pavilion No. 1 at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road. Come out and enjoy various food trucks and music. For more information on this program, go to uppermac.org.
Aug. 8
Upper Macungie Township will show the movie “Zootopia” (PG) at Breinigsville Park, 8935 Breinigsville Road. Activities start around 5:30 p.m. and the movie will start as soon as the sun goes down. Before the movie begins, explore the township’s petting zoo full of adorable animals, get in line for your own safari-inspired balloon animal and snag some amazing, themed giveaways to remember the night.

Rev. Kris P. Snyder, senior pastor, Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, is holding a fundraiser to celebrate her 60th birthday. Her dream is to erase medical debt; over 100,000,000 adults nationwide have medical debt negatively impacting their lives. Every $10 donated relieves $1,000 on average of medical debt for people in financial need. Lehigh Valley churches did this last year and raised $25,000 and erased $3 million worth of debt. To learn more about the agency’s work, visit unduemedicaldebt.org. The fundraiser will be held 5-8 p.m. at Kornfeind’s Market, 2228 Old Post Road, Coplay. Aug. 10
Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will host the annual family picnic in the grove 11:30 a.m. Aug. 10. The fellowship committee will provide hot dogs, turkey barbecue, snacks and beverages with gluten free and vegetarian options available. Bring a side dish or dessert to share. Visitors are welcome to come and enjoy the free food, fun and fellowship. There will be a cake walk, bingo and other activities.
Concert in the Park series in Emmaus Community Park, Shimerville Road, Emmaus, 6-8 p.m. will feature a performance by DMC Duo.

The Parkland Garden Club will meet at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield. The program “Petal Pushers” will be presented by Heidi Devlin. Aug. 15
Last day for the Neffs National Bank collection of new school supplies for local kids. The items may be taken to the bank lobby and will be delivered to the Northern Lehigh Food Bank for children who are served by the organization.
Aug. 16
Youth in grades six through 12 are invited for dinner and s’mores in the grove, Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, 5-7:30 p.m. If it rains, the event will move inside to the youth room.
Aug. 17
Registration deadline for The Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley Ready, Set, GOLD Walk/Run planned for Sept. 13. The T-shirt/goody bag deadline to register is 11:59 p.m. The 16th annual Ready, Set, GOLD Walk/Run, presented by The Bennett Family and held at the Ironton Rail Trail, features an 8K race, a 5K walk and a kids’ fun run/obstacle course. There will be food, entertainment, music, raffles and more. There is still time to create a team and try to win a team prize such as best superhero-themed team, top fundraising team or largest team. Vera Cruz Homecoming will be held noon to 8 p.m. in Mystic Chain Park, 3718 Main Road East. A cakewalk is scheduled 3:15 p.m. Entertainment will include music performances by The Rehrig Brothers and TimeWhys band.
Tookany Creek Bluegrass Band will perform in Emmaus Community Park, Shimerville Road, as part of the Concerts in the Park series 6-8 p.m. Admission is free.
Rustix will perform classic rock 4-6 p.m. at The Hills at Lock Ridge, 7125 Scenic View Drive, Macungie, as part of the Lower Macungie Township Summer Concert Series.
Aug. 21
St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, will hold a food truck and bake sale 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vince’s Cheesesteak Food Truck will be in the church parking lot. Stop by and support this fundraiser. For each sandwich sold, $1 will go to St. John’s general fund. They will also have pies and baked goods for sale. For more information, call 610-395-5535.

The Fran Mayville Duo performs 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Triangle Park, Emmaus, as part of the Tunes in the Triangle free summer concert series.

The 47th annual Wheels of Time Rod and Custom Jamboree is scheduled at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 Poplar St., Macungie. The show opens 7 a.m. each day. Donations of food items for local food banks will be accepted.

Upper Macungie Township’s free Concert in the Park series will continue with its Bourbon and Blues concert 6 p.m. at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road.

Concerts will be held monthly through October and will showcase outdoor live music.
