Chicago, 7:15 p.m. Aug. 5, Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza. Gates open: 6 p.m. Chicago is an American rock band formed in Chicago, Ill., in 1967. Self-described as a “rock and roll band with horns,” their songs combine elements of classical music, jazz, R&B and pop music. Chicago’s first album was “Chicago Transit Authority” (1968). Chicago has toured every year since the beginning. The original three band members are Robert Lamm, keyboards, vocals; Lee Loughnane, trumpet, vocals, and James Pankow, trombone. The band’s line-up includes Wally Reyes, Jr., drums; Tony Obrohta, guitar; Loren Gold, keyboards, vocals; Ray Herrmann, sax, flute; Neil Donell, vocals; Eric Baines, bass, and Ramon Yslas, percussion. Chicago’s achievements include two Grammy Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a Chicago street dedicated in their honor. The band has released 36 albums, and sold more than 100 million records, with 21 Top 10 singles, five consecutive No. 1 albums and 11 No. 1 singles.
