Hokendauqua: Churches to host WCHI meals

Two local churches will host upcoming Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative free community meals — Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, Aug. 3 and Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church, 3300 Seventh St., Aug. 19, both 4-6 p.m.

Meals are for low-income Whitehall Township and Coplay Borough residents and are available while supplies last.

National Night Out is set for 6-8 p.m. Aug. 5 at Schadt Avenue Park and Playground, 1975 Schadt Ave. The township police and fire departments and Cetronia EMT will be on hand.

Mission BBQ, King Kone and Chick-fil-A will provide snacks, and other businesses will have displays and activities.

Parkview Pool’s hours are noon-7 p.m., with 11 a.m.-noon available for pool pass holders only, at 3051 S. Fifth St. Take note: The hours will be 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 4-16.

Free adult swim times are 9:30-10:30 a.m. Aug. 2, 6 and 10.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 8, there will be the back to school pool party. Deejay music will be provided by New Dimension Sound and Entertainment Services.

Whitehall’s concert series continues with SteelCreek Aug. 9 and Flirtin’ with the Mob Aug. 16, both 6-9 p.m., at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St. There will also be food trucks and refreshments from Soaked Winery and Hawk Mountain Brewery.

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church holds its Hot Dogs and Hymns program 6-7:15 p.m. every Wednesday through August. Come for hot dogs, chips, beverages, desserts, fellowship, fun and sing-alongs.
