Coplay: Trick Stacy to perform Aug. 1 in Saengerbund concert series
Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., continues its summer concert series. The lineup for Friday night concerts includes Trick Stacy Aug. 1, Union Jack Aug. 8, American Street Band Aug. 15, Sons of Izzy Aug. 22 and Social Call Aug. 29.
The gates open 5 p.m., and the kitchen opens 5:30 p.m. Bands will play until 10 p.m.
The Wednesday acoustic concerts are 6-9 p.m. The schedule includes Irv Ball and Video Daze Aug. 13 and Tim Harakal Aug. 27. The kitchen will be open.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., will hold its 71st annual picnic and homecoming noon-9 p.m. Aug. 3, rain or shine. The event will include musical entertainment, pierogies and other food options, refreshments, bingo, basket raffles and more.

Coplay Community Days is scheduled for Aug. 22-24. The event, celebrating the local cement industry and the Saylor Park kilns, will include food, drinks and musical entertainment.

Coplay’s Parkway Pool is open noon-7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Season passes are available at the borough office, 98 S. Fourth St.

Public works Director Paul Boyle announced brush/branch pickup will continue through Sept. 26.
Call the borough office at 610-262-6088 to schedule pickups for sofas, mattresses (plastic encased), chairs, dressers or other large items. There is a limit of two per year at no charge.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.
If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.
The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

Classic aerobic exercise is held 8:45 a.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the auditorium at borough hall. Bring dumbbells, a towel and a mat to enhance your workout.

Coplay American Legion Post 426 has an special mailbox in front of the Post at 134 S. Second St. Worn-out American flags can be deposited into the mailbox for the Post to properly destroy.
