Harakal entertains community plaza crowd
Local musician Tim Harakal entertained attendees with his soothing, cool music July 23 at the Stephen J. Burker Memorial Gazebo, North Second and Chestnut streets.
Friends and families gathered on a gorgeous evening at the flower-laden square adjacent to the Giant Foodstore. About a decade ago, Giant donated the property to Coplay Borough for the purpose of developing a community plaza at the high-profile corner in the borough.
Recently, the gazebo was dedicated by Coplay Borough Council to honor a former mayor, the late Stephen J. Burker. A ceremony and formal dedication of the gazebo was held in May. Burker led the effort to develop the summer concert series and the plaza, among other borough events.
Harakal performs at many venues in the Lehigh Valley including Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St.
Visit Harakal’s Facebook page for information on more of his performances.
The next concert at the borough’s community plaza is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. Aug. 6, with James Supra taking the stage.
