LICENSE PLATE RESPONSES
Several readers responded to our story in last week’s Press about a proposal to introduce front license plates in Pennsylvania. Here are their unedited responses.
We had front license plates many years ago. They did away with them as a cost-cutting measure. It would cost vehicle owners to have plates on the front as most cars are not equipped with brackets and in some cases do not even have holes to mount the brackets. Many residents would need to go to a dealer or garage to have the plate mounted.
Another expense for the owner.
This is just another politician whistling in the dark to make people believe he is doing something to justify his overblown salary.

I strongly disagree, We don’t need a front license plate in PA. It figures Katie is a Democrat wasting taxpayers money. That’s what they’re all about. Can you imagine how much the extra this is gonna cost the taxpayers is ridiculous. I just heard about another Democrat who thinks that we should now have to wear helmets to ride our motorcycles. Another ridiculous idea should be up to the person that’s riding the bike whether they wanna wear a helmet or not; so sick of you Democrats.

Just a while ago, Democrats defunded police and were anti-law and personal safety, when Democrats were in power.
Now, since they lost an election HORRIBLY, they want us to bolt a plate on the front of our car to help stop crime.
I wish they would make up their mind.
Is this someone who wants to make a name for themself?

If I recall correctly, PA did issue front and rear plates many years ago, then switched to rear only.
I am not in favor of front plates. Yes, it might help catch some people breaking the law but it is yet another government requirement that will cost residents more money. Law abiding citizens will again be paying for what is supposed to catch law breakers. And we’ll all have to pay for license plates holders on the front bumpers.
Sorry, no. Nanny state, go away.

We never had it before so why start it now. Most of the time you see the back end of cars but some are stolen that is the car or plates. We don’t need anymore extra spenditures in Pennsylvania.
