LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Kindergarten school tours and bus rides scheduled

If you have been trying to think cool thoughts to help you beat the oppressive July heat and humidity, Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church can help. The church will hold a Christmas in July Craft and Vendor Fair 9-2 p.m. July 26. Enjoy local crafts/vendors and a bake sale while you think about a chilly Christmas Eve with a layer of snow on the ground ... making snow angels. I feel cooler already!

Last week I visited the summer playground program at each park and even in the heat and humidity, kids and counselors were playing baseball, dodgeball, enjoying board games, crafts and there was even a visit from the Allentown Public Library.

This year’s Playground Day will be held at Lindberg Park July 23 with a rain date of July 24. The day is a culmination of summer fun and includes games, prizes and more. The final day of the program is July 25.

Salisbury’s National Night Out will take place 5-8:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at Salisbury Middle School, 3301 Devonshire Road, Allentown. The event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Dust off your tambourine and don your tie-dyed apparel for a musical trip back to the music of the 1960s and 1970s at this year’s AM Radio concert which will return to Franko Park 1-4 p.m. Sept. 27. Enjoy culinary delights from Top of the Hill Grill featuring burgers, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches and more.
