John Paul Olivia

John Paul “Junior” Olivia, 87, of Northampton, died July 16, 2025, at home. He was the husband of Kathryn (Malik) Olivia for 62 years.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late John and Sophie (Yasson) Olivia.

He attended the Scranton State School for the Deaf and the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf until graduating in 1957.

He learned the printing trade and was employed as a lithographer for Sun Printing, Philadelphia; R and S Printing, Northampton; and Miers-Johnson Company, Allentown. Later, he worked as a water blaster for Cera-Met, Bethlehem. After retiring, he worked part time at Kohl’s Department Store, Whitehall.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Northampton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Debra A.; a brother, Christopher D. and wife Susan (Rehrig) of Palmerton, a sister-in-law, Marsha of Kutztown; a niece, Christine D. Olivia-Wisocky of Palmerton; a sister-in-law, Susan and husband Gary Shinsky of Palmerton; seven nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Travis, Raven, Carlene, David, Jacqueline and Daniel; six great-nieces and nephews, Melissa, Olivia, Tyler, Dylan, Aaron and Luke; and lifelong friends and caring neighbors.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas M. and Patric; and a niece, Kristin Olivia Fromal.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton, 18067.

Arrangements were made by Campton Funeral Home Inc., Palmerton.
