David Richard Fretz, 80, of Emmaus, died with his family by his side at Lehigh Valley Hospital July 14, 2025. He was the son of Irwin and Margaret Fretz.

A lifelong resident of the Lehigh Valley, he graduated from Emmaus High School in 1962. From 1971-2006, he was partner and owner at Fretz Realty and he remained an active member of the Lehigh Valley real estate community until his death.

He was a man of faith and he loved his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl, in 1965 and raised two children. They spent their summers in Ocean City, N.J. They fixed up old houses and built new ones. They traveled the world. They spoiled their five grandchildren.

He was an avid tennis player and golfer. In sport as in life, he hit the ball true and straight.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Eric, Tara Roseme; grandchildren, Hannah, Grace and Zachary Roseme, Atticus and Eleanor; brother, Glenn; sister, Jean Shelling.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 2 with calling hours 10-11 a.m. at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, 1151 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. Allentown.
