Allen/East Allen townships: Car show to be held July 26

The 10th annual Northampton Area School District Student Council car show is set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 26 at Bicentennial Park West, 5351 Park West Lane, East Allen Township. The rain date is July 27.

All makes, models and years of cars, trucks, motorcycles and antique tractors are welcome.

Registration is set for 9 a.m.-noon, and awards start 3 p.m. There will be dash plaques for the first 100 preregistered cars and 40 awards.

The event will also include door prizes, a tricky tray, food, deejay and a craft and flea market. All proceeds benefit Student Council.

Zion’s Stone United Church of Christ, 51 Church Road, is having a chicken barbecue dinner Aug. 16. Pickup will be 1-4 p.m.

Dinner includes half a chicken, baked potato, applesauce and dinner roll. There is a cost.

Lappawinzo Fish and Game Association, 25 Lappawinzo Road, Allen Township, is planning a casino trip for Aug. 24. The group departs 9 a.m. and will return 9 p.m.

Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6600 Jacksonville Road, East Allen Township, hosts crafters 10 a.m.-noon the first and third Thursday of each month in the meeting room of the Monocacy School.

No registration is needed.

Everyone is welcome to attend and work on whatever craft you desire. Bring your project, supplies, a drink and perhaps a snack, and prepare for good conversation and a productive two hours.

A $5 donation is requested to defray facility costs.

Horner’s Cemetery, 4965 Nor-Bath Blvd., East Allen Township, is now open for the season. Many historical people from Northampton County are buried there.

Horner’s Cemetery is a nonprofit organization, dependent on the community for support to sustain itself.
