Salisbury CM earns first win

The Salisbury Senior Connie Mack team got into the win column last week.

Rain has been a thorn in many teams’ sides this spring and into early summer. Salisbury played two games last week on back-to-back days.

The Falcons fell to Silver Creek 12-2 in six innings last Friday evening, but followed that the next day with a 24-2 win over Wilson in just four innings.

In the game with Silver Creek, Salisbury got into a hole early, trailing 4-0 after the top of the first inning.

The Falcons scored a run in the bottom of the first and one more in the fifth. Silver Creek added a run in the second and then extended a 5-2 lead by adding seven runs in the top of the sixth to seal the victory.

Salisbury finished with six hits, led by two from Brady Brinker. Both Tanner Kuder and Levi Quiles tallied a hit and an RBI and Logan Kao and Hunter Kotarski recorded a hit and scored a run.

In the win against the Warriors, the Falcons scored at least three runs in all four innings, bringing in three in the top of the first, five in the second, four in the third and 12 in the fourth.

They recorded nine hits against Wilson as both Tallon Liggit and Fenway Bellew had two hits and combined for seven RBIs, with Liggit also scoring three runs. Brinker finished with a hit and four RBIs and Alex Lees notched a hit and three RBIs. Cooper Dickert scored five runs and had a run and an RBI. Kao also touched home plate five times and added a hit. Liam Christman tallied a hit and RBI and scored two runs.

On the mound, Lees threw all four innings to pick up the win. He allowed two runs and four hits, striking out seven batters.

In the league standings, Salisbury sits at 1-7 overall and is in 16th place in the 21-team Lehigh Valley League.
