North Parkland CM rolls over Wilson
The North Parkland Senior Connie Mack team had a double-digit victory on the road last week, but then fell by just one run in a road rivalry matchup to split a pair of games in Lehigh Valley league action.
The Buffaloes first took down Wilson 19-6 in five innings last Wednesday evening, but then fell just short, losing 8-7 at South Parkland this past Monday evening.
In the win over the Warriors, the Buffaloes scored multiple runs in all five innings, bringing home two in the first, five in the second, six in the third, four in the fourth and two in the fifth to enact the run rule. They finished with nine hits, with both Jared Santilli and Noah Ream recording two hits, two runs and two RBIs. Jordan Kuhns, Gavin Hudak, Tyler Dietrich, Royce Morabito and Tanner Hardenberg all had one hit. Hudak tallied a team-best six RBIs and Kuhns contributed two RBIs and scored three runs. Dietrich, Morabito, Ben Lorah and Max Vargas all notched an RBI. Hudak started on the mound and earned the victory, going three innings and striking out three, allowing just two earned runs.
In the rivalry game, the Trojans scored in all but the last inning and held on from a late Buffaloes rally to complete the comeback. South Parkland led 5-2 heading into the top of the fifth inning, but North Parkland put together a rally and scored five runs to take a 7-5 lead. But in the bottom-half of the frame, the Trojans responded with three runs to take back the lead and hold on.
South Parkland was outhit 10-4, but was aided by five defensive errors from the Buffaloes. Hudak finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Dietrich tallied two hits and an RBI and Santilli, Ream, Morabito, Brandon Gonzzlez and Tristin Cancelliere rounded out the offense with a hit each. Ream contributed three RBIs and both Morabito and Gonzzlez tacked on an RBI.
North Parkland sits at 5-8-1 overall and is in 11th place out of 21 teams in the league standings.
