Former Emmaus High School baseball player Wyatt Henseler was selected by the Washington Nationals in this year’s Major League Baseball Draft.
Henseler, a Texas A&M graduate student, was selected in the ninth round Monday as the 261st overall pick and was one of eight Aggies who were drafted this year.
After starting his college baseball career at the University of Pennsylvania, Henseler transferred to Texas A&M. The third baseman started all 56 games for the Aggies and recorded a .319/.423/.562 slash line in his lone season in College Station.
The former Hornet registered 12 homers, a team-high 15 doubles, 19 walks, 33 RBI and 48 runs scored while posting 16 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI performances.
At Penn, Henseler was a unanimous selection as the 2024 Ivy League Player of the Year, a Third Team All-American and the league tournament Most Outstanding Player. He earned three straight First Team All-Ivy League selections from 2022-24.
He entered 2025 as a preseason Second Team All-American by D1Baseball/NCBWA and a Preseason Second Team All-SEC selection.
