Do you know a veteran or active-duty service member whose dedication, sacrifice, and service to the community deserve to be celebrated?

Now is your chance to shine a light on their inspiring story.

The Great Allentown Fair, in partnership with Kitchen Magic, is announcing the “Hometown Hero Award,” a recognition honoring one exceptional individual who has served (or is serving) in the U.S. Armed Forces and continues to make a positive impact in the Lehigh Valley community.

Nominations are open.

Here is the Eligibility Criteria:

Nominees must:

· Be a member or former member of the U.S. Military

· Be living

· Have a connection to the Lehigh Valley area

· Be available to attend The Great Allentown Fair on Aug. 28.

The selected Hometown Hero will be chosen for the impact of their military service, commitment to the community, and any acts of heroism or sacrifice, especially those whose contributions may not have received the recognition they deserve.

How to nominate:

• Complete the nomination form.

• Deadline to submit is Aug. 1

Nominations will be reviewed by The Great Allentown Fair and Kitchen Magic.

Recognition Event:

The chosen Hometown Hero will be honored at “Kitchen Magic’s Red, White & Thank You! Military Day,” 3 p.m. Aug. 28, during The Great Allentown Fair.
