Northampton Community College finishes its summer season with “Hairspray” and Reclaimed Performing Arts Company is presenting nine plays in one day for its inaugural “Lehigh Valley Theatre Showcase.”

In “Hairspray,” it’s 1962 in Baltimore, Md., and quirky teen Tracy Turnblad (Katelyn Morgan) has one dream: To dance on “The Corny Collins Show.”
When she gets put in detention with the African-American students in the school, they teach her some of their dance moves, and her newfound groove wins her a spot on Corny’s show.
Overnight, Tracy transforms from a nobody into a star and uses her influence to advocate for racial integration on the television show.
Tracy faces scrutiny and bullying from TV network producer, Velma (Kate Pistone), and her popular, but vicious, daughter, Amber (Lindsey Fountain).
With the help of teenage heartthrob Link (Harrison Fox), host Corny Collins (Giovanni Marini), and Motormouth Maybelle (Nikki Cohen), Tracy overcomes the odds and succeeds in her mission to integrate “The Corny Collins Show.”
The cast includes Richie Warmkessel (Edna Turnblad), Jenny Bianchini (Penny Pingleton), Will Windsor Erwin (Wilbur Turnblad), Lucy Moore (Amber understudy), Jayden McFaddin (Seaweed), Za’Naisha McGuire (Little Inez), Lori Colacito (Prudy Pingleton) and Kevin Gaughenbaugh (Mr. Pinky)
