Parkland School District Superintendent Dr. Mark Madson, members of the school board, representatives of Butz Corporation and staff members celebrated the opening of the new school district’s education and operations building, 2618 Stadium Drive, Orefield, recently.
The celebration included remarks from Madson, School Board President Robert Cohen, and Mike Butz of Butz Construction, in the new building’s conference room, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours of the building and of course, light refreshments.
Members of the press and the general public were invited to visit the new facility as it will provide a better work environment for Parkland staff than was had at the Troxell Building, a former junior high school on North Cedar Crest Boulevard, which was constructed in 1922.
