The Catasauqua High School varsity boys soccer team will have a dine and donate fundraiser 4-8 p.m. July 23 at Catty Corner, 301 Mulberry St., Catasauqua. The fundraiser is for dine-in or takeout.

There will be Catasauqua Rough Rider youth football clinics July 23 for players entering grades 2-6 at Alumni Field on Pine Street, Catasauqua. The clinics will be held 5:15-6 p.m. and hosted by CHS coaching staff and players.
These clinics are designed for young players to learn the game, meet the staff and players and have some fun. No experience is necessary, and registration is not required.
Parents will be required to sign a release form upon arrival.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is holding a half-priced sale on shoes during the month of July.
Regular store hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The shop is happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys during store hours.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church will be holding its 20th annual golf tournament Aug. 1 at Southmore Golf Course, 235 Moorestown Drive, Bath. There will be a four-person scramble with a shotgun start for 1 p.m. Registration begins 11:30 a.m.
There is a cost, which includes green and cart fees, beer, water, soda, door prizes and a hot dinner. There will be a raffle and 50/50.

The borough zoning hearing board will hold a meeting 5:30 p.m. Aug. 4 for a special exception hearing and a request for variances at the property at 1001-1003 Second St. The intended improvement will propose a 20-resident sober living facility. The property is situated in an R3, multifamily residential zoning district.
Zoning board hearings are open to the public and are held in the basement-level meeting room at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., will hold its monthly food drive 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 8 in the church parking lot. Nonperishable food items will be accepted to benefit the Catasauqua Area Food Bank. Drive through to donate your items and church volunteers will help to unload your contributions.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church will hold its Sizzlin’ Summer cash bingo Aug. 17 in the parish center. Doors and kitchen open 11:30 a.m., with bingo beginning 1 p.m.
There is a cost, which includes 15 games, six specials and one jackpot round.
No outside food or drinks are permitted. The kitchen will be selling your favorites.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua will hold its next free lunch, for the borough community, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Aug. 18. The lunch is given out to folks in the community with food insecurity or those who could use a helping hand.
The church is also accepting donations for the Roughie Pantry. The pantry is set up to “love our school-aged neighbors.” The pantry is currently accepting shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, body wash, tampons, sanitary napkins, etc. Collection bins are located at the church entrances.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church will hold a mystery dinner theater night Sept. 13 at the church. The “Golden Girls” Murder Mystery event begins 5:30 p.m. with a night of fun, felony and fellowship.
Your favorite ladies from the 1980s are throwing a party and you’re invited. Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sophia have worked long and hard to throw the perfect celebration, but will they still be celebrating when they discover a deadly flaw when a surprise guest shows up? The women uncover something deadly, and they are not at all pleased. As Sophia attempts to lighten the move with a song, someone attempts to lighten the mood with a bang! Help solve the murder with your vote.

Residents are urged to take caution when using the blue U.S. Postal Service mailbox at Second and Bridge streets in Catasauqua. An unknown amount of mail was stolen last week. This is the second time this year that mailbox theft has occurred at this location.
The Catasauqua Police Department advises anyone who deposited mail into these mailboxes July 8 to cancel payment on any checks immediately and to assume mail will not reach its intended recipient. Residents are encouraged to visit one of the local post offices during business hours and deposit mail inside the building.

Cool off with a cool drink at the North Catasauqua park snack stand, which is open throughout the summer. As a reminder, the snack stand is cash only during the season. The stand will remain open until the fall.

Catasauqua Area Food Bank, 527 Front St., is accepting donations of pasta, cereal, soup, rice, stuffing, instant potatoes, granola bars and peanut butter crackers. Donations may be dropped off during open hours, 3-4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. Monetary donations are also accepted.
