Moore Township: Recreation committee to meet

Moore Township Recreation Committee next meets 7 p.m. July 17 at the recreation center pavilion, 635 English Road.

Christ Church Little Moore United Church of Christ, 913 S. Mink Road, Danielsville, will hold an ice cream and hot dog social 4-6 p.m. July 26, free of charge. Games and a raffle are planned.

The church is also accepting donations of used clothing, coats, curtains, sheets, towels, etc., for those in need.

The board of supervisors next meets 6 p.m. Aug. 5 at the municipal building.

Moore Township Police Department is planning its National Night Out event 6-9 p.m. Aug. 5 at the recreation center, 635 English Road. The event features food and refreshments, games, public safety information and more, all at no cost.

Moore Township Land and Environmental Protection Board will next meet 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at the recreation center pavilion, 635 English Road.

The board has successfully preserved countless acres of farmland and open space within Moore Township.

Moore Township Community Days will be held 5-10 p.m. Aug. 15 and 16 at the recreation center. The event features live bands, beer, slushies, clams, food trucks, fellowship, fun, fireworks and more.

There is a traffic advisory for the following roads in Moore Township: Copella Road (Scenic Drive to Community Drive), Eagle View Road, Terry Road and Yost Road (Route 512 to Route 946).

There are road pavement issues that require all motorists to slow down when driving on the roads.

The Moore Township Association for Families in Need meets the second Tuesday of each month at Covenant United Methodist Church, 2715 Mountain View Drive. Visit its Facebook page or mentalhealth.networkofcare.org for more information.

Bingo is played 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Department, 2718 Mountain View Drive. Doors open 5 p.m.

There will be prizes, a progressive jackpot, rob the piggy bank, washline bingo and more fun.

Yard waste can be dropped off 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 7 a.m.-dusk Saturdays at the municipal complex. The bins for drop-off are located near the public works garage, through the gate and to the right.

There is one bin for weeds and one bin for brush. The drop-off is closed on most holidays.
