Hokendauqua: Tool Shed Jack to entertain

Whitehall Township’s 2025 summer concert series is underway. Concerts run 6-9 p.m. at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St.

Performances will include Tool Shed Jack July 19, the Main Street Cruisers July 26, SteelCreek Aug. 9 and Flirtin’ with the Mob Aug. 16.

In addition, there will be food trucks and refreshments from Soaked Winery and Hawk Mountain Brewery.

Free adult swim times at Parkview Pool, 3051 S. Fifth St., will take place 9:30-10:30 a.m. July 23, 26, 27 and 30 and Aug. 2, 6 and 10.

Regular hours of operation are noon-7 p.m., with 11 a.m.-noon available for pool pass holders only.

State Sen. Nick Miller, D-14th, will host a license plate inspection event 4-6 p.m. July 23 at the Whitehall Township Police Department, 3223 MacArthur Road. Police department members will be there to conduct the inspections.

Damaged plates consist of those that are no longer reflective, peeling, blistering or unreadable from 50 feet. There is no fee to replace your damaged license plate, and assistance to fill out paperwork will be available.

After forms are submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, a new license plate will be mailed to you.

Before the inspections, the police department will also hold a news conference about grants received for the department and township.

Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association has registration open for baseball and softball. Baseball is open for T-ball, Grasshoppers, Biddy, Midgets and Knee-Hi, ages 4.5 through 16; softball is open for 8U through 19U.

Mark your calendar: National Night Out is set for 6-8 p.m. Aug. 5 at Schadt Avenue Park and Playground, 1975 Schadt Ave. The Whitehall Township police and fire departments and Cetronia EMT will be on hand to talk with community members.

Mission BBQ, King Kone and Chick-fil-A will provide snacks, and other businesses will have demos and activities.

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, holds its Hot Dogs and Hymns program 6-7:15 p.m. every Wednesday through August in the gathering place. Come for hot dogs, chips, beverages, desserts, fellowship, fun and sing-alongs.

After eating, there will be a brief video/lesson surrounding faith and faith practices, then singing. Attendees can choose which hymns to sing. Linda Eberhardt, retired organist, will play piano. The ending song will be “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”

This event is for all ages.
