Guest View Freedom at Your Library

Let freedom ring at your library this summer!

You can choose to read books and win prizes through the app Beanstack or by using our paper log sheets.

Do you have summer reading for school? Make it count twice!

If you’d like a break from reading, try spinning the Kindness Wheel!

You can also search for Where’s Waldo in the youth services area, and enter a raffle for a Wawa basket in the tech center.

Travel to six or more libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties with an LCLC passport for a chance to win an iPad!

Join us as we wrap up another fantastic season of summer reading with a celebration full of color, creativity and prizes.

The summer reading closing celebration, titled “Spin into Creativity,” welcomes all ages 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 9, featuring spin art.

Unleash your artistic side with spin art – a fun, hands-on activity for everyone that allows you to create swirling masterpieces to take home.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply enjoy watching colors blend in mesmerizing ways, this activity promises excitement and creativity for all.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., fold up the fun as we conclude our summer reading program with a special Intro to Origami workshop.

This program invites kids and families to discover the art of origami, transforming simple sheets of paper into animals, flowers and imaginative creations.

All materials will be provided and participants will get to take home their masterpieces.

Come celebrate a summer of stories by folding your own.

We’ll also be drawing winners from our summer reading session, which began June 14, but there’s a special twist.

Additional prize drawings will be held exclusively for those attending the closing party, so stick around for a chance to win something special.

Celebrate your reading achievements, make art and enjoy the festive atmosphere with fellow book lovers. We can’t wait to see you there.

The library will also join National Night Out celebrations Aug. 5 in the community.

Additionally, in August, the Friends of the Library will hold its annual book sale at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield.
