‘Hip-hop’ Hoppin’ at Arthaus

Presented by hip-hop artist and producer Red Mcfly, “Hip Hop on the Wall” is a visual exhibition of hip-hop culture at Arthaus, a community gallery at 645 W. Hamilton St., Allentown. Juneteenth was celebrated along with hip-hop at the June 19 opening reception with rhythmic tunes provided by Area61Zero Music. The exhibit runs through July 11.

Themed T-shirts and an art catalog featuring lyrics written by Red Mcfly were on sale as well as the curated artwork on the walls.

The artists who were invited to participate include Peekaboo, Caddy Mike, Femi J. Johnson, Deco, Uncutt Art, Max Meano, Jesse Rahmos, Dayanarh Romero (aka Dready Deezo) and Isaac Pelayo.

Organized by Happiness Engineer Pas Simpson, “Check Out My Melody,” a free event that teaches youth about music production happened July 5 at Arthaus. An “Undaground Set” celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. July 11 at Arthaus, with an after party scheduled for 8 p.m. held at the Moxy Hotel, 949 W. Hamilton St., Allentown.
