SYA introduces new football program

There is a new Salisbury Youth Association program on the block.

The new Salisbury/Allentown Youth football program is ready to play. All residents of Salisbury and Allentown in grades kindergarten through sixth (seventh by approval only) are eligible to register. This is open for any skill level, including all levels of tackle and flag. Practices start July 28 and will run Monday through Thursday with games played Sundays at Salisbury High School. Registration closes July 18 so register soon. Any questions, including how to transfer if you already registered with another team, can be directed to salisburyyouthfootball@gmail.com.

SteelStacks continues to offer a free family movie series this summer. They are showing “The Princess and the Frog” 6:30 p.m. July 2 and on July 9 they will show “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.” There is always something happening down at SteelStacks from family movies to the summer concert series. Check out their schedule.

The Salisbury Township School District is hiring part-time instructional assistants, offering morning and afternoon shifts for flexibility. Interested applicants should apply online at the district website salisburysd.org.

The township recycling drop off sites are open. The Franko Farm site will be open July 3 and 5 and the Devonshire site will be open July 7, 10 and 12. Drop off center hours will be 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturdays.
