Matthew Besz
Matthew Besz, 56, of Kempton, died June 22, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Tammy L. (Henry) Besz. They would have celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in August. Born in Allentown, he was a son of Stephen and Diane (Dougherty) Besz, of Coplay, formerly of Whitehall. He was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, Lehigh Carbon Community College and received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University. He was a professional engineer and worked for PPL the past 15 years. Previously, he worked for Lucent. He also had a government patent for cellphone design while working at Lucent.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield. He enjoyed playing ice hockey, snowboarding, hunting and fishing. He was involved with his son’s soccer team. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially going to the beach and playing mini-golf with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by son, Zachariah N.; brother, Jason and his fiancé, Erin McIntosh, of Bethlehem Township; sister, Jennifer Peden and her husband Ronnie of Sanatoga, Pa.; sister-in-law, Ali Henry, of Homer City, Pa.; nieces and nephew, Kylie, Gabriel Peden, Ava Peden.
