Anna Lou J. (Bear) Oswald, 98, formerly of New Tripoli, died June 30, 2025, at The Phoebe Allentown Health Care Center where she had been residing. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Oswald. Born in Germansville, Heidelberg Township, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Birdie E. (Shoemaker) Bear.

She assisted her husband and her four sons in the operation of their family farm in Lynn Township for many years. She was a member of Jacobs Church, New Tripoli, where she formerly taught Sunday School and volunteered in the kitchen for various church functions.

She is survived by sons, Neil P. (Mary Ann), of Kempton, Ray S. (Ann), of Kutztown, Steve J. (Brenda) of Whitehall; daughter-in-law, Linda M., of York Springs; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Barry C.; an infant great-granddaughter, Hadley; siblings, Arlene M. Oliphant, James F. Bear, Walter C. Bear, Marie A. Brown.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. July 26 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. before the service. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
